How to Cleaning Silverware

Along with gold, silver is one of the most precious metals in the world. Coins, jewelry, even your phone contain silver. This is because it is not only a beautiful element that is valued for its reflective brilliance and rarity, but also an incredibly useful element. Even the ancient Egyptians valued silver over gold. It is an undeniable fact that silver has an extremely important place in our daily lives, from its antibacterial properties to its use in tableware. And so, like any other valuable thing in our lives, it needs to be properly maintained.

Silver begins to tarnish as soon as it is exposed to air, but you probably won't notice it until after a few months, when it first turns dull and then discolored. The way to clean silver is to prevent corrosion. Never use chlorine bleach and never rub with carbon fiber cloths as these will permanently damage your items; always use a microfiber cloth or cloth made specifically for silver. And never put your silverware in the dishwasher.

There is a very old but classic method of cleaning and removing stains. Dish soap and water. Soak your cloth in some water mixed with dish soap and rub the piece of silver. When finished, dry with a cloth and your silver should look brand new.

If you have scary looking parts, you can also remove these heavy stains in a few minutes with the following method.

Take a bowl and line it with aluminum foil.
Fill the container with boiling water and baking soda (one tablespoon of baking soda per glass of water)
Drop your silver pieces onto the Aluminum foil.
Wait about 10 minutes.
Remove your pieces and buff them with a microfiber cloth.
